The 20,000 VisitWallonia passes available this Monday sold out in less than 30 minutes

The first batch of 20,000 passes worth 80 euros offered on Monday morning by the Wallonia Tourism Promotion Office to support the sector was sold out in less than half an hour, confirmed Pierre Coenegrachts, the Deputy Director General of Wallonia Belgium Tourism.

"We did better than Tomorrowland. All  the passes available on  Monday were gone in less than half an hour," he explained. Preceded by a vast communication campaign, the operation promised to be a success. 

"We made 20,000 happy. Obviously, there are also disappointed people" who will be able to try their luck again on November 1, when 20,000 new passes will be offered according to a formula that could evolve.

By telephone

"We are thinking about it," said Pierre Coenegrachts. A pass quota could in particular be reserved for people who do not have an internet connection and who could then try their luck by telephone. 

"The primary goal of this action is that the 5 million released by the regional authorities arrive in the coffers of Walloon tourist operators, while pleasing the population. With the passes sold on Monday, 1.6 million are already going. find your way, ”concluded the head of the Wallonia tourism promotion office.
