Online sales giant Amazon has removed two Halloween masks that depicted the coronavirus from its site. One of the two masks was sold for a hundred euros, reports the British daily The Independent.

These masks, which represented the Covid-19 virus, were offered by third-party sellers based in China. In the description, it was stated that the masks were “suitable for adults and adolescents”. Rachel Power, managing director of The Patients Association, told The Sun: “These masks represent a terrible error in judgment on the part of manufacturers and sellers, and I hope they will be withdrawn from sale soon. ”

125 euros

Amazon finally made the decision to remove them from its site after receiving a lot of criticism. One of the two models in question was sold for no less than 114 pounds, or 125 euros. In explaining its decision, Amazon said the sellers did not follow the sales regulations. The web giant, however, did not give more details on its choice.

If two models have been removed from the site, others are still for sale, especially on the French page, reports BFM TV. However, the terms “Covid-19” and “coronavirus” no longer appear in the descriptions.
